I was excited to find the 2017 Secret Valentine Exchange by Sanae and Ute in the nick of time and managed to sign up on the day it closed. We all appreciate pretty post, and a welcome change to the usual junk mail and bills. I have a few friends and penpals that I send pretty parcels, letters and postcards to on random occasions to make them smile, but I was particularly looking forward to this opportunity to share some smiles with a stranger.

2017 hasn’t started that well for me as I’ve been quite ill so was a little bit late sending my parcel out; it was a relief to see that it reached Germany on Valentine’s Day and Franziska was happy. All I knew was that she liked penguins and green, but as I didn’t have any fabric with penguins on that involved green I decided to do a mixture of penguin items and green items, and a cute notebook just because it makes me smile and is useful.

In the panic to get mine posted on time I had forgotten that I would receive pretty post too, so it was a lovely surprise when a parcel arrived from Grenoble. Once I’d opened my package it wasn’t long before I was sticking washi tape on my sketchbooks and parcels, and filling my pencil roll with pens and pencils, oh and who can say no to Lindt chocolate! Thank you Ann Marie 🙂

Did you sign up to #sve17this year or previous years? I’d love to see what you made/received.
