Today it was time to get the sharpies out for day 17 of #the100dayproject which I was happy with as it meant I could take them into the garden with my sketchbook and Harry to make the most of the good weather. I started with a bit of zentangle as I’d been working on a colouring book idea yesterday but once I’d done the first practice piece I decided to go back to the drawing board, so to speak, and re-evaluate what I like about sharpies. I was definitely going in the wrong direction as it’s the freedom of thick lines that I can’t achieve with with my biro or ink pens, and of course I can use colour. The final result was a quick sketch to try and get across the crazy over grown nature of my flower boxes at the moment, well less flowers and more weeds.
