Another week nearly done, and as hectic as it’s been it wasn’t as stressful as I’d first anticipated, which means that I am calm enough to go to the National Portrait Gallery tonight to join in the free artist drop in drawing session. I rarely draw the human form, apart from in ‘anonymity style’ but life drawing was always one of my fave times at college and uni as it’s a good¬†opportunity¬†to loosen up and try new styles, above are a couple of my best life drawings, tucked away in my sketchbook and rarely viewed. My Folksy Friday theme today (incase you haven’t guessed it yet) is drawing, something I love to do and the basis of my Folksy shop… here are some of my fave fellow folksters:

Corieltauvi Art – winter wren 2 (drawing isn’t always conventional pen/pencil on paper, this etching is gorgeous)

Mister Benn – Jeff Buckley (the atmosphere and marks in this is amazing, reminds me of life-drawing tutors that used to encourage us to aim for this)

Oosie – Dafty the lamb (everyone who reads my blog will know by now of my love of drawing with the sewing machine but this drawing with felt is fantastic)

Squintessential – starman earrings (I draw inspiration from REM!)

Time to go and do some doodling on my long commute in to work, my aim is to get everyone to own a sketchbook! Have a good Friday and weekend…
