Working from home for both my day job and Accidental Vix can be a bit isolating. I absolutely love what I do, and am incredibly lucky to be able to make a living out of my creative passions. It has it’s advantages, working around family life and seeing my son and hubby etc, but also it’s disadvantages and the networking/socialising side (or lack of) is one of those for me. That’s why I find that apart from my site meetings and daily conversations with project managers, clients and contractors etc. for my interior design work, it’s vital for me to be part of Etsy Team Leeds; a group of like minded, creative individuals, who together provide a huge support network and knowledge share. This is one of the many reasons I am excited to be a seller at this year’s Etsy Made Local at Leeds City Museum on 3rd Dec, and why I am going to share with you my fellow creatives’ work, which will also be available to buy on the Saturday or Sunday – it’s one not to be missed!
Here are just a few of the talented designers, who like me, will be at Etsy Made Local on Sat 3rd December, and who I consider to be friends. I needed help finding a starting point so decided Christmas themed items would be a good place to begin:
Cherry Peg – Jo makes the cutest and most perfect storage baskets and textile art, and her fabric choices make me drool. This Christmas Garland would add some lovely colour and texture in any festive room. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know Jo through many fairs we have done together and it’s great that she even comes to see me when she’s not necessarily selling at the same event, and we may spend a bit too much time admiring each other’s instagram accounts (feel free to join in with the Accidental Vix instagram love.)
Cards by Gaynor – Gaynor really must have the patience of a Saint putting all these intricate cards together, and her bubbly personality definitely comes through in the colours and designs. I may not be a girlie girl but I have to admit that cute things always catch my eye, and how adorable are these robin gift tags to make your wrapping extra special this Christmas.
Unwrap Colour – Not only is Rose to blame for my addiction to washi tape (and I have a LOT) but she is one of the Team Leeds Co-Captains, and her wealth of knowledge on all things Etsy is always appreciated. I daren’t look in Rose’s shop for too long or I will end up spending a fortune, but here is one of my fave Christmas washi tapes, and there will probably be a few more making their way into my hands on 3rd Dec so be quick or I’ll beat you to it!
I am not doing any other fairs this year so please pop by and say hi if you can, and if you want a recap of the amazing event last year here’s a great Etsy Made Local 2016 video – you might even spot me making a sale!
