Happy New Year, and hello again… After deciding to take a much needed break over December following on from Country Living I am now feeling refreshed and motivated for the year ahead. I don’t make resolutions as I am a cynic and think they are there to be broken, but instead I constantly evaluate and review not only my outlook on life but my design direction to see if it is making me happy and being well received. Country Living did not go well for me admittedly but I have now dissected it and taken the positives as well as using it for a new direction in 2014 and learnt that my dribble bibs are my best sellers, but it is not until people can pick them up and feel the quality that they really begin to sell well so this year I will be looking at how I market one of my most popular products. Any creative will tell you that it’s the ideas that keep us going, so I am looking to expand my horizons, and as well as add more illustrations to existing ranges, I have finally ordered samples of my first two fabric ranges (there are more in progress) and can’t wait to hold them in my hands before I can start selling them! On that note, above are my first fabrics being processed through Spoonflower as we speak, which allows you to buy truly unique and lovingly designed fabric, wallpaper and gift wrap as well as getting your own designs printed, if only there were a UK equivalent.

Do you have any new years resolutions that you want to share to keep your motivation up this year? If so, just leave a comment below and let’s support each other as we travel into the unknown year that lies ahead.

Finally, a big thank you to my friends, family, fans and customers – without your continued support I would not be doing something I love. I don’t doubt that the year ahead will have it’s ups and downs as did 2013 but I’m ready to take on the adventures that lie ahead, so who’s with me on this one?
