It’s Friday! That means music on while I work today, and as we’re on this subject I need your help…

I’ve been asked to do an illustration of ‘hope’ for a postcard to be given out at mental health talks and also to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness via Postcard Productions but I want to base it on song lyrics as this is what inspired my Sketchbook Project, now housed in Brooklyn Art Library. I have a few in mind but I would love to hear your favourite lyrics that are on the subject of ‘hope and recovery.’ I’ll start us off with one of my go to songs from my favourite band R.E.M. ‘I was brought into this life a little lamb, courageous stumbling, fearless was my middle name…I’ll trip, fall, pick myself up and walk unafraid, I’ll be clumsy instead.’ This song has been on play plenty over the last few years to get me through tough times but I think it’s a bit long for a postcard so please share your favourites below and I will choose one to illustrate. If there are enough I might even make them into my own range of postcards or a fanzine with donations to a mental health charity.
