I haven’t written for a few months and all of a sudden I’ve found a new motivation from somewhere, I think it must be having a gorgeous new baby to coo at. However, with a beautiful little boy to take up most of my time my posts are going to be short and sweet and I’m going to try and return to doing at least one blog a week, starting with the old fave Sunday Showcase.

To start off here are a few of my most recent illustrations in my ‘As Scene By Me’ range of local Yorkshire landmarks;  the Parkinson Building, Leeds University for those less familiar with it, and Kirkgate market (work in progress) were the last 2 illustrations I did in hospital  which wasn’t easy with cannulas in both hands before Harry was born, and Church St, Ilkley is the first illustration I have done since Harry arrived. Maybe Yorkshire was the inspiration around Harry’s birth as I am a Yorkshire lass and proud of it, I think it was an important part of growing up.

If you could choose any building or landmark that is important to you which would you choose and why? Of the three above the most recent sketch of Ilkley is probably my favourite as it’s where we now live, and where Harry with grow up, but it also represents a quintessentially English small town with quaint stone buildings and many quirks along the way.
