Anyone who is a regular reader of my blog or viewer of my work will know that I’ve got back into my textiles over recent months and have even started free-stitching again, or sketching with the sewing machine as I like to call it. So, when I came across Gillian Bates and her etsy shop I was distracted for quite a while and decided that I had to tell you about my new discovery:

  • the fact that anyone could draw these with a pencil or pen is enough, but to stitch them is amazing
  • despite the titles it took me a while to realise they were completely stitched – the level of detail is astounding
  • I love the touch of block colour here and there

Hopefully this will inspire you to try something you haven’t done for a while, or even something new!
