I’m a bit behind the times here but I am trying to work out where to base a new sketch on for my As Scene by Me range, all suggestions welcome, and remembered I didn’t write a blog post about my live sketching session for The Great Yorkshire Shop at Leeds Corn Exchange last September. To say I was pushed out of my comfort zone is an understatement but when the opportunity arose to sit and draw this magnificent building as part of the Heritage Open Days I couldn’t say no. It was a far cry from being sat on my own drawing for hours on end but I’m glad that I agreed to it because the feedback from the public was great and I was surprised how many people commented on the fact I hand draw everything from eye and don’t use a ruler (that’s my excuse for less than perfect lines!) Plus at the end of it I got to add a new illustration to the range, which is my first interior visual (admittedly a bit odd considering I’m an interior designer) and is an exclusive limited edition print to The Great Yorkshire Shop in Leeds Corn Exchange. So, pop down there if you’re in the area and check out my local illustrations as well as lots of other gorgeous and local gifts and goodies, there’s even a whole area dedicated to male grooming.
